Our History

Reliability and Quality - since 1986

What began with a clear idea and a great deal of commitment is now an established name in occupational safety. Since AS Arbeitsschutz was founded, we have continued to develop - with the aim of offering users tailor-made solutions and meeting the ever-growing demands of a dynamic market.

1986

The beginning of a sucess story

The history of AS Arbeitsschutz began on February 22, 1986, and the company remains owner-managed to this day. What started out as a small specialist occupational safety company has developed over the years into an established business with a clear strategic focus, extensive experience, and a firm place in the industry.

1996

The brand name NITRAS

Just ten years later, a decisive step followed: the registration of the NITRAS trademark. Since then, the name has stood for high-quality occupational safety solutions that customers throughout Europe rely on. Quality, function, and reliability - that is the standard we associate with the name NITRAS.

2000s

From hand protection to a full range

What began with hand and arm protection was systematically expanded: from the late 1990s onwards, our range grew steadily to include foot protection, eye protection, and workwear - today we offer everything from a single source. NITRAS has thus developed into a full-range supplier of personal protective equipment.

2007

From Europe to Asia

In 2007, we established a purchasing office in Shanghai to optimize our communication with partners and ensure quality control directly on site. This strengthened our international structures and laid the foundation for even closer cooperation in Asia.

2015

New paths with NITRAS Medical

In 2015, we expanded our portfolio to include NITRAS MEDICAL in response to the growing demand for medical equipment. With the founding of MCD Medical Care Dental GmbH, we responded specifically to the demand for disposable gloves, masks, and disinfectants - reliable and quickly available.

2022/2023

New logistics center

Construction of our modern logistics center, built to sustainable standards, began in 2022. We were able to complete it as early as 2023 - a milestone that strengthens our efficiency and underscores our commitment to sustainability.

2024

AS Quality Center

In 2024, we launched the AS Quality Center. This step strengthens our internal quality assurance and lays the foundation for even higher standards and reliability in our product range.
